Dorsey, Farinholt lead way at Great Meadow

THE PLAINS — James Wood freshman Sophia Dorsey finished 13th overall, leading the Colonels cross country team to 13th place out of 26 teams at the Great Meadow Invitational on Saturday.

Dorsey finished with a time of 19 minutes, 51 seconds. James Wood’s girls’ team, who had four freshman in its scoring five, posted the best finish among area schools. Brittany Arnold (21:06) and freshmen Autumn Hottle (21:11), Zoe Schopick (21:42) and Maria Harter (22:59) completed the team’s scoring.

James Wood senior Luke Farinholt finished 15th (16:31) to lead the Colonels to 22nd place out of 30 boys’ teams. James Wood finished with 482 points.

Sherando, led by Thomas Shea (17:30), followed in 23rd place with 487 points. Katie Rogers (20:55) led the way for Sherando’s girls in 47th place.

Oakton swept both the girls’ and boys’ titles.
