Great Meadow Invitational

THE PLAINS — Sherando senior Trevor Whiteside finished 16th in 16 minutes, 39 seconds to pace the Warriors to fourth overall at the 34-team Great Meadow Invitational on Saturday.

Sherando’s Thomas Shea (29th, 16:56), Thomas Powars (35th, 17:05), Hayden Williams (62nd, 17:36) and James Kelly (85th, 17:57) rounded out the team’s top five scorers. The Warriors finished with 226 points.

Thomas Jefferson S&T won the boys’ race with 78 points.

Millbrook senior Tyler Cox-Philyaw led area runners in 13th (16:35) to pace Millbrook in 24th place with 549 points.

James Wood, led by Max Lindquist (72nd, 17:44), came in 26th with 608 points.

In the girls’ race, Sherando placed ninth with 265 points. Victoria Reese (17th, 20:21), Paige Conner (37th, 21:11), Hannah Lothrop (71st, 21:59), Emily Askew (80th, 22:19) and Gillian Liedke (87th, 22:31) finished as the Warriors’ scoring five.

James Wood, led by junior Sophia Dorsey (18th, 20:27) followed in 10th place with 283 points. Autumn Hottle (54th, 21:37), Maria Harter (70th, 21:55), Claire Bright (72nd, 22:00) and Jessie Clatterbuck (100th, 22:51) completed the Colonels’ top five.

Millbrook senior Hannah Croyle placed 15th (20:20) to lead the way among area girls. The Pioneers finished incomplete as a team.
