Loudoun County coach Todd Hill believes in keeping things simple.

Much like when he coached at Handley from 1995-2001, Hill doesn't do anything fancy with his offensive or defensive schemes. His team's success comes down to consistent execution.

This season, the Raiders have been much more consistent than last year, according to Hill, and it has shown in their results.

"We've preached consistency all season," Hill said. "The kids have worked really hard, and they've gotten better each week through the season."

One example of that consistency is quarterback Austin Campbell. The senior has completed 65 percent of his passes and has thrown for 1,721 yards.

It helps that Campbell has two solid targets in wide receiver Mike Ayoub and Chase Williams. The Raiders also like to run the ball, and Hill said their balance on offense has been a key to their success.

The Raiders' multiple-I offense will present a big challenge for James Wood on Saturday, but their defense will be just as tough. Loudoun County is giving up only 11 points per game.

Williams, son of former Washington Redskins defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, leads the way at linebacker. He is the Dulles District Defensive Player of the Year and has already verbally committed to Virginia Tech.

Loudoun County's 50 defense keys on stopping the run.

"They try to take away the run and make you pass," James Wood coach Mike Bolin said. "We're excited to see what we can do."

Hill said James Wood is very balanced on offense just like his team, but he is especially concerned with stopping quarterback Trae Tinsman.

Hill said he expects it to be a good game that will come down to one of the most basic things.

"I honestly believe it will come down to the team which makes the fewest mistakes -- missed tackles and things like that," Hill said. "I think it will be a very tough game. I think we're very evenly matched. Of course, there are no easy games in the playoffs."
