HARRISONBURG — Sherando and Woodgrove fired matching 302s to tie for first at the Conference 21A mini tournament Wednesday at Heritage Oaks Golf Club.

James Wood placed third with a 324, and the Colonels were followed by Millbrook (327), Harrisonburg (346) and Handley (366).

Because of course maintenance, golfers played the front nine twice, and par was 68.

Sherando junior Brett Loy took first with a 2-over 70, and teammate Josh Hogue tied for second with a 71. Mason Scott shot a 79 for the Warriors, and two players recorded an 82 to round out Sherando’s four-player score (Jonah Pearson and Josh Bianco).

James Wood was paced by Hunter Hall and Ben Marsh, who each shot a 77. Millbrook’s Ryan McCarty placed fourth overall with a 74, and teammate Andy Kim recorded an 81. Handley’s top golfers were Colleen Connolly (83) and Nick Mitchell (85).
