FRONT ROYAL — Sherando’s Brett Loy blitzed the field as the Warriors cruised to a dominating win a Northwestern District mini golf tournament at Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Club on Monday.

Playing the front nine, Loy fired a 3-under 33. The senior finished nine strokes clear of teammate Josh Bianco, who had a 42. The Warriors’ Ryan Judy tied for third with a 43, while Brandon Nice and Caleb Dotson tied for the final counting score as each shot 46.

Sherando’s team score of 164 was 17 strokes better than second-place Skyline. Handley (185), Millbrook (188) and James Wood (202) followed.

Gregg Burton and Brennon Smith each shot 44 to pace the Judges. Kyle Kremer had a 47.

Andy Kim and Nick Varcadipane each had rounds of 45 to lead the Pioneers. Tyler Holdsclaw added a 46.

Ethan Russell and John Greene each shot 48 to lead the Colonels.

All four local teams will be back in action Thursday in the Conference 21 West championship at Blue Ridge Shadows.
