CROSS COUNTRY

LEESBURG- Millbrook senior Crystal Nelson finished third at the Oatlands Invitational cross country meet on Saturday.

Nelson finished with a time of 18 minutes, 37 seconds, pacing the Pioneers to 20th out of 41 girls' teams.

Karly Knechtel (20:04) came in 32nd, and Sophia Lee (21:16), Brooke Hagenbuch (22:04) and Simone Jarvis (22:35) completed Millbrook's scoring five.

James Wood's girls' team came in 34th. Amber Hawkins finished 29th to pace the Colonels. Samantha Ratcliffe (21:02), Madeline Long (22:20), Molly Farinholt (22:54) and Daniele Ray (23:00) rounded out the Colonels' team scoring.

James Wood's boys' team finished 32nd out of 46 teams. The Colonels' Joe Davet (17:04) led the way in 57th place. Danny Aldstadt (17:17), Luke Farinholt (17:52), Nick Stasiak (18:50) and Mark Bohler (19:10) rounded out James Wood's scoring five.

Chantilly junior Sean McGorty (15:30) won the boys' race, and Cosby senior Megan Moye (18:22) took first in the girls' race. Walt Whitman won the girls' team title, and Albemarle won the boys' title.
