Volleyball: Colonels fall in five to Cougars

Nokesville- The James Wood volleyball team pushed Kettle Run to the brink before falling in five games (16-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 12-15) on the road Thursday.

James Wood (6-3) was led by freshman Katie Houser's 16 kills and freshman setter Ashley Hilliard's 39 assists.

Junior libero Kelby Jackson added 24 digs and six aces in the loss.

The Colonels next open Northwestern District play with a road match at Sherando at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
