Burger walk-off hit gives Millbrook baseball win over James Wood

WINCHESTER — Cris Burger drove in Haden Madagan from second base with a walk-off single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Millbrook baseball team an 8-7 win against James Wood in Class 4 Northwestern District action on Thursday at Millbrook.

James Wood (4-7, 2-3) took a 6-3 lead with three runs in the top of the fifth inning. Millbrook (10-3, 6-1) answered with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 7-6 lead. The Colonels scored once in the sixth to tie the game at 7-7.
