BOYS’ TENNIS - Judges 5, Colonels 0

WINCHESTER — Handley, the No. 1 seed, dropped just two games in five completed singles matches as the unbeaten Judges clinched a regional playoff spot with a triumph over No. 4 James Wood in the Conference 21 West semifinals on Monday.

The Judges (16-0) will host Millbrook (14-3), a 5-3 winner over Harrisonburg on Monday, in the Conference 21 West final on Wednesday at the Slaughter Tennis Pavilion.

Defending Group 4A champion Parker Wilson defeated Evan Dokken 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Other winners for the Judges were: No. 3 Carter Watts (6-1, 6-0 over Jacob Calabrese), No. 4 Cole Pawlak (6-0, 6-0 over Austin Harney), No. 5 Jack Volinsky (6-0, 6-0 over Chase Messick) and No. 6 Tabor Thwing (6-0, 6-0 over Trent Richards). The match between Handley’s Nick Mueller and the Colonels’ Noah Borromeo was halted when the final result was decided.
