WINCHESTER — After a pair of postponements to start the week, Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy finally opened its season with a win over James Wood Thursday.
SVCA (1-0) got a pair of goals from senior midfielder Jessica Crowley in the first half, including one on a penalty kick, and sophomore Hannah McGann added one in the second half off an assist from Maddie Deason.
Goalkeeper Kayla Phaneuf totaled four saves in the victory for the Patriots.
