WARRENTON — Defending Group AA doubles champions Jessie Nolan, a senior, and Kathryn Bock, a junior, of Handley advanced to today’s Region II semifinals with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Western Albemarle Tuesday at Fauquier High School.

Handley will face Fauquier in today’s semifinals at 1 p.m. at Fauquier. The final is at 3 p.m.

The James Wood doubles team of Fae Schweitzer and Ashley Hillyard lost their quarterfinal match to Monticello 6-0, 6-2.

In singles action, Nolan lost to Monticello’s Kassie Tulenko 6-1, 6-1.

The singles and doubles champions will qualify for the Group AA state semifinals in Blacksburg on June 6-7.
