GIRLS’ TENNIS - Colonels 5, Wolverines 2

WINCHESTER — Morgan Burner and Carlee Gosline closed out the victory at No. 2 doubles as fourth-seeded James Wood advanced to the semifinals in the Conference 21 West Tournament with a win over No. 5 Woodgrove on Monday.

The Colonels took a 4-2 lead after singles play with victories from No. 1 Megan Hillyard (6-1, 6-0), No. 2 Taylin Crosen (6-1, 6-3), No. 3 Lily Kimble (6-0, 6-4) and No. 5 Burner (6-2, 6-4).

The match was halted as Burner and Gosline cruised 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

The Colonels will travel to top-seeded Sherando today at 3 p.m.
