WINCHESTER — Lani Spielman pitched a complete-game one-hitter in a Class 4 Northwestern District victory over Handley that was shortened to five innings via the mercy rule at Henkel-Harris Field.

The game was moved from James Wood to Jim Barnett Park because of field conditions.

Spielman struck out 10 batters for the Colonels (4-0, 2-0 district), who have yet to allow a run this season.

James Wood was led at the plate by Linsey Anderson (2 for 4 with five RBIs), Haley Kaiser (2 for 3 with a double and four RBIs), Ivy Rosenberry (2 for 3 with three RBIs), Spielman (2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs) and Mackenzie McCarty and Olivia Miller, who each had RBI singles.
