SOFTBALL - Four locals named to Region 4C first team

James Wood had three players and Sherando had one named to the first team as part of the All-Region 4C teams that were released on Monday.

First team selections are James Wood senior pitcher Lani Spielman (9-3-1, 95 strikeouts in 73.1 innings, 1.24 ERA in the regular season), freshman second baseman Olivia Miller (27 for 59 for a .458 batting average, 28 runs, nine stolen bases) and sophomore outfielder Ivy Rosenberry (25 of 55 for a .455 batting average, 27 RBIs, 25 runs, four home runs); and Sherando senior Tori Seymour, a designated player/flex selection (30 of 80 for a .375 batting average, five home runs, 22 RBIs, 25 runs).

Second team selections are Sherando senior first baseman Korenn Paige (24 of 72 for a .333 batting average, 19 RBIs, 25 runs), sophomore shortstop Sierra Strosnider (32 of 75 for a .427 batting average, six home runs, 28 RBIs, 20 runs), sophomore outfielder Blake Conner (36 of 78 for a .462 batting average, three home runs, 18 RBIs, 34 runs) and junior outfielder Brooke Moses (29 of 71 for a .408 batting average, four home runs, 23 RBIs, 18 runs); and Millbrook sophomore Sophie Pell, a utility selection (24 of 61 for .393 batting average, two home runs, 15 RBIs, 19 runs).

Loudoun Valley’s Tressa Kagarise was named the Player of the Year and Fauquier’s Sarah Lamper was named the Pitcher of the Year.
