WINCHESTER — Afton Sykes went 2 for 4 with a double, home run and seven RBIs as top-seeded James Wood (16-4) defeated No. 4 Liberty in the Class 4 Northwestern District semifinals on Tuesday. The Colonels will host No. 3 Fauquier at 6 p.m. in Thursday’s championship game. Both teams will advance to the Region 4C tournament.
