LEESBURG- Morgan Baker's three-run home run paved the way for the Colonels' first win in Thursday's non-district game against Tuscarora.

Baker, who also had a single and two runs, hit James Wood's first fence-clearing home run in three years, which was part of a six-run second.

Also leading the Colonels (1-1) were Erin McCarthy (3 for 4 with a double, run and two RBIs); Morgan Sykes (2 for 4 with two RBIs, two runs and a double); Rachael Largent (2 for 4 with an RBI and a run); and Kierstyn Peacoe (a complete-game five-hitter with 10 strikeouts).
