Colonels second in Harrisonburg

HARRISONBURG- James Wood's boys and girls team combined to take second Saturday at the Harrisonburg Co-Ed Classic.

The host Blue Streaks scored a combined 129 points in the six-team meet, and James Wood scored 113.

Leading the way for the Colonels were Katie Houser, who took first in the triple jump (34 feet, 3 inches) and tied for third in the high jump; Anthony Ingle (first in the triple jump, 41-9, and second in the high jump, 5-8); and Joey Bynog, who placed first in the discus (143-6).

Other top performances for James Wood came from the mixed distance medley (first in 12 minutes, 39.90 seconds); the boys 4x400 relay (first in 3:40.80); the girls 4x400 relay (second in 4:35.90); the girls 4x800 relay (third in 12:32.30); the boys 4x800 relay (second in 9:16.30); Laura Seymour (tied for third in the high jump, 4-6); the mixed 4x800 relay (second in 9:29); and the mixed 1,600 sprint medley (third in 4:37.10).
