BOYS’ TRACK & FIELD - Grove, Freeman win for Colonels

SPRINGFIELD — LaVaughan Freeman and Chance Grove took home titles for James Wood at the Leslie Sherman Memorial Invitational on Thursday.

Freeman won the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 4 inches. Grove took the discus in 147-2, besting second-place Noah Robinson 136-9 of Millbrook.

Other Top 3 finishers: Millbrook: 2. John Pullen 4:31.90 in the 1,600; James Wood: 2. Liam McDonald, Josh Arce, James Burdock, Colin Staneart 8:44.66 in the 4x800 relay; 3. Jackson Clyburn, Owen Emerson, Freeman, Logan Owens 3:40.14 in the 4x400 relay.
