Armel’s 33 lifts Colonels

Winchester — Heather Armel was determined not to let another Northwestern District opponent play shutdown defense on her.

Coming off a six-point outing in James Wood High School’s 18-point loss Friday to Millbrook, Armel got herself in position to score often Saturday afternoon, unloading a career-best 33 points on Handley in the Colonels’ 63-56 girls’ basketball victory at Daniel Morgan Middle School.
