Girl's Basketball - Colonels 65, Applemen 49

WINCHESTER — James Wood junior Keiana Brooks narrowly missed a triple-double in leading the Colonels’ victory over Musselman (W.Va.) on Tuesday night.

The Colonels (11-3) overcame an early 19-9 deficit after the opening quarter by outscoring the Applemen 25-11 in the second quarter to take a 34-30 lead at the break.

Brooks scored a team-high 18 points and finished with nine steals, nine assists and five rebounds, leading four James Wood players scoring in double figures.

Dani Rizzari added 13 points, including three 3-pointers, seven assists and three steals, and Kaitlyn Crane (seven rebounds) and Amanda Christian finished with 10 points apiece.
