WINCHESTER — With two games separating six teams in the Northwestern District girls’ basketball standings, each win over the final week is critical for seeding purposes.
Frederick County rivals James Wood and Sherando entered Friday night’s game knowing that a win could mean a shot at second place and a loss could result in seventh.
Realizing it could be her last home game, Colonels senior forward Haley Smith brought a sense of urgency to Donald H. Shirley Gymnasium.
