Indoor Track - Rosso takes pair of titles

HAGERSTOWN, Md. — James Wood High School’s Rene Rosso won a pair of events to lead the Colonels at the Western Maryland Invitational at Hagerstown Community College on Saturday.

Rosso won the 55-meter hurdles in 8.75 seconds and took the high jump by clearing 5 feet, 4 inches in the meet, which featured 22 teams. The only other top-10 finish for the James Wood girls was a ninth in the 4x400 relay (4:56.39).

Drake Tews finished third in the high jump (5-10) to pace the James Wood boys. Dominic Revetta placed fourth in the shot put (41-9), Joseph Spielman was seventh in the high jump (5-6) and Logan Owens took 10th in the 55 hurdles (9.09). The Colonels also placed ninth in the 4x200 (1:14.19) and 4x800 (9:19.49) relays.

Thanks to Rosso’s, two wins the James Wood girls were eighth with 20 points. The Colonels’ boys tied for 11th with nine points.
