SWIMMING

WINCHESTER- Handley High School's swim team swept James Wood in Friday night's Northwestern District meet at Jim Barnett Park.

Handley's girls defeated James Wood 92-78, and the Judges' boys rolled over the Colonels 121-41.

In the girls' meet, Handley's Sparkle Kitchin won the 200 free (2:24.03) and the 100 free (1:06.28). Handley's Liz Grove won the 200 individual medley (2:41.51), and Elizabeth Harris took first in the 100 fly (1:23.37). Aleksa Putnam won the 400 free (5:23.36) for the Judges.

James Wood's Alex Lew won the 50 free (30.44), McKenzie McNemar took first in the 100 back (1:17.94), and Kaye Whitacre won the 100 breast (1:23.54).

In the boys' meet, Handley's Taylor Watts won a pair of events, taking first in the 100 back (1:11.59) and the 200 free (2:18.75).
