Colonels 4, Cougars 4, suspended in 7th

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va.- James Wood and Jefferson (W.Va.) played to a 4-4 tie when rain suspended the game in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday.

James Wood coach Ted McDaniel said he wasn't sure if the two teams would resume the game where it ended when Jefferson visits the Colonels on April 4.

James Wood's Morgan Sykes went 2 for 3 with a double, a triple, a run and an RBI. Erin McCarthy went 2 for 3 with two runs and an RBI, and Whitney Dick also went 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Colonels.

Wood freshman pitcher Kierstyn Peacoe allowed five hits and four runs (two earned) through six innings, striking out nine.
