WINCHESTER — The James Wood softball team had each of its first six batters reach base, with five of them scoring, and went on to a 9-3 Northwestern District win over Handley Monday.

The Colonels (5-7, 4-1 Northwestern) were led offensively by Rachael Largent (2 for 4 with three RBIs), Morgan Sykes (3 for 4 with two runs) and Kierstyn Peacoe (2 for 3 with three runs and an RBI).
