WARRENTON — Fauquier took advantage of three errors in the first inning to score three runs and then broke the game open with a five-run third in a non-district victory over James Wood that was shortened to five innings because of the mercy rule.

Whitney Dick had James Wood’s lone hit in the loss.

James Wood pitcher Kierstyn Peacoe got hit by a pitch on her throwing hand in the top of the first and did not return. Taylor Rizzari took the loss in the circle for for Wood (7-10).
