LEESBURG — Whitney Dennis and Carly Lewis each drove in two runs, propelling the James Wood High School softball team to its first win of the season, 7-5 over host Heritage.

Dennis went 2-for-2 with a walk and also scored a run. Lewis went 1-for-3, and Erin McCarthy went 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored.

Amanda Morrison (1-2) surrendered just four hits and got the complete-game victory for the Colonels (1-2).
