Swimming: Millbrook girls, Wood boys capture meet

WINCHESTER — The Millbrook girls and James Wood boys each went 2-0 in a meet at Jim Barnett Park’s War Memorial Building on Wednesday.

The Pioneer girls defeated the Colonels 49-45 and Clarke County 71-23. James Wood beat the Eagles 75-18.

The Colonel boys beat Millbrook 54-34 and Clarke County 57-26. The Pioneers defeated the Eagles 45-33. 

Millbrook girls’ winners: Kiera Webster (200-meter free, 2:25.61, 100 fly, 1:11.91); Haley Butler (200 IM, 2:41.57, 500 free, 5:12.88); Riley Pillo (50 free, 29.42); Aline Truong (100 breast, 1:26.57); 200 medley relay (Lauren Dennard, Pillo, Webster, Ayelen Arias) 2:21.44; 400 free relay (Anahi Alvarado, Truong, Dennard, Pillo) 4:48.62.  

James Wood girls’ winners: Ryan Oliver (100 free, 1:11.07); Lauren Thompson (100 back, 1:21.74); 200 free relay (Thompson, Oliver, Annie Hua, Kallie Gyurisin) 2:07.84. 

James Wood boys’ winners: Joe Warnagiris (200 IM, 2:19.77, 400 free, 4:30.29); Eddie Grimes (100 fly, 1:03.40, 100 back 1:06.53); Alex Hua (50 free, 27.19); Michael Thompson (200 free, 2:14.64); 200 medley relay (Eddie Grimes, Warnagiris, Hua, Josh Harty) 2:00.50; 200 free relay (Thompson, Harty, Warnagiris, Zach Harrington) 1:53.12; 400 free relay (Grimes, Harrington, Thompson, Hua) 4:10.86.   

Millbrook boys’ winners: Rhien Julich (100 free, 1:03.26); Nathan Truong (100 breast, 1:14.09). 

Clarke County boys’ lndividual leaders: Ryan Hooks (second in 200 IM, 2:30.63, second in 100 fly, 1:04.81); Eamon Whalen (second in 100 free, 1:04.15).
