Winchester — On a night when baskets were hard to come by, a player that Skyline High School girls’ basketball coach Andrew Lacey said has been struggling all year gave the Hawks the push they needed.
Shannon Hoverter, who shot 6-of-10 from the floor, broke a 28-28 tie with two baskets in the final 1:32 of the third quarter to give Skyline the lead for good in its 44-38 victory against James Wood Friday night at the Colonels’ Donald H. Shirley Gymnasium.
