James Wood senior pitcher and outfielder Logan Bower and Sherando senior catcher Dylan Frazier were named co-Class 4 Northwestern District Players of the Year, and James Wood’s Adrian Pullen was picked as the Class 4 Coach of the Year to highlight the combined Class 4 and Class 3 All-Northwestern District teams that were released Thursday.
During the regular season, Bower pitched 37.1 innings and went 4-1 with a 2.81 ERA, 56 strikeouts and 1.10 WHIP. Offensively, Bower hit .400 (24 for 60) with 17 RBIs, 19 runs, a .526 OBP and 12 stolen bases. Frazier batted .435 (27 for 62) with 23 RBIs and a .533 OBP.
Pullen led James Wood to a 17-5 record, the No. 1 North seed for the Region 4D tournament, and the best Class 4 Northwestern District record (7-1).
Joining Bower — who made the First Team at both positions — and Frazier on the First Team are James Wood senior shortstop Zach Woskobunik and sophomore designated hitter Owen Neal; and Sherando junior pitcher Dean Lamb and senior outfielder Hayden LaFever.
The Second Team includes James Wood sophomore pitcher Parker Kerns, sophomore outfielder Tyler Prusik and senior first baseman Brock Whipkey; Sherando junior pitcher and second baseman Aaron DeHaven and junior first baseman Nick Usa; Millbrook senior pitcher Devin Reid; and Handley junior pitcher Jake Swartz, senior shortstop Will Braun-Duin and senior catcher Charlie Allen.
Honorable Mention selections include Millbrook junior pitcher and catcher Dylan Apfel, sophomore pitcher Carson Hammer and senior outfielder Mason Reich.
