STERLING — Players from three area high schools failed to make it out of semfinal action at the Conference 21 singles and doubles tennis tournament on Wednesday at Park View High School.
In singles, James Wood’s Evan Dokken, the third seed, fell 6-3, 6-4 against No. 2 Brad Hirschberger of Loudoun County. In the other semifinal, No. 4 Hayden Wilfong of Millbrook dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to top-seeded Slade Dumes of Dominion.
In doubles play, No. 6 Wilfong and Zach Clark lost 6-3, 6-2 to No. 2 Hinchberger and Justin Fox. In the other semifinal, Sherando’s fourth-seeded team of Ben Hulver and Cameron Spieles lost 6-0, 6-0 to No. 1 Dumes and Jake Cole.
