RICHMOND — James Wood took seventh out of eight teams at the VHSL Group 4A state meet Saturday at the Virginia Commonwealth University Siegel Center in Richmond.
The Colonels scored 168.5 points in the first round and did not advance to the finals. Kettle Run scored 222.5 points in the finals to beat runner-up Grafton by 19 and win the title.
For the Colonels, Toni Culp and Emily McKee were each named first team all-state. Second team honors went to Millbrook’s Kamryn Koller and Sherando’s Kaitlyn Pierro.
