WINCHESTER — The Winchester Football Officials Association (WFOA) has chosen the James Wood High School varsity football team to receive its 2009 Good Sportsmanship Award.

The award is presented annually to one varsity and one non-varsity football team served by the WFOA. This is the second consecutive year the Colonels’ varsity team has received it.

WFOA Commissioner Neal Riemenschneider said the team will receive a plaque in recognition of the honor.

The sportsmanship awards are voted on by the members of the WFOA and the voting is based on the teams’ interactions with opponents, officials and teammates.
