Class 4 Northwestern District champion James Wood had four selections on the All-District cheer squad first team which was recently released.
The Colonels will host the Region 4C competition at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. James Wood, Millbrook and Sherando will compete in that meet which will decide state championship berths.
Local first team selections — James Wood: Lauren Taylor, Madeline Walker, Kassi Culp, Kelsey Beard. Millbrook: Sarah Purdy, Lexie Himelright, Mia Ford. Sherando: Gracie Ridings, Mercedes Ardinger, Hannah Craig. Handley: Chazden Walker, Rosalind Bland.
Local second team selections — James Wood: Danielle Ritter, Keilena Burch, Blake Gonzales, Alexsandra Smith. Millbrook: Molly Johnson, Madison Clark, Ellie Deegan. Sherando: Kylynn Whitt, Alli Bodenschatz, Eryn Broccolo. Handley: Isabel Mammano, Mekhia Braithwaite.
