WINCHESTER — Central coach Stephanie Mathews was all smiles after her scrappy Falcons pulled out a victory at James Wood, 62-58, on Friday night.
“We’ve been in somewhat of a slump, so this was a really big win for us, especially on the road,” said Mathews, who is in her second season at the helm.
A back-and-forth game that started out slow certainly ended with a fury. The Falcons took the lead for good on a 3-pointer by Ashley Ebersole with 2:50 to play and the rest of the game was a march to the charity stripe.
