LURAY — Sable Ponn scored a game-high 17 points to lead Luray to a non-district girls’ basketball win over James Wood Saturday night.
The Bulldogs (12-3) led 17-2 at the end of the first period en route to the victory over James Wood (9-4), who had starters Keiana Brooks and Brook Nesselrodt out of the lineup because of injuries.
Luray’s Michaela Nichols also scored in double figures with 11.
Taylor Heishman led James Wood with 10 points and 11 rebounds, and teammate Whitney Dick added five points, three assists and two steals.
