Handley senior forward Emeryce Worrell was named the Class 4 Northwestern District Player of the Year and Sherando’s Patrick Gladden was named the Class 4 Coach of the Year as part of the combined Class 4 and Class 3 All-Northwestern District teams that were released Wednesday.
During the regular season, Worrell led the area with 33 goals and led Handley to the No. 1 seed in Region 4D North. The Judges (13-3-2) host South No. 2 Blacksburg at 4 p.m. on Friday in the Region 4D final.
In his first year, Gladden led the Warriors to a 12-7 record for its first winning record since 2019 and most wins since also winning 12 in 2019. Sherando had its first region berth since 2018.
Joining Worrell on the First Team are junior midfielder teammate Mia Hudson; James Wood senior forward Maddie Shirley, senior midfielder Sloane Ferrebee and senior defender Avery Wright; Sherando senior defender McKenna Hardy; and Millbrook senior midfielder Molly Ludwig.
The Second Team includes Handley sophomore defender Reese Craig; Sherando sophomore forward Anna Foster and senior midfielder Sophia Straightiff; and Millbrook senior forward Kaitlyn Arthur.
