LYNCHBURG — James Wood junior Kate Konyar placed sixth in the 1,600 in a school-record and career-best time of 5 minutes, 12 seconds at the Bulldog Invitational at Liberty University on Saturday.
In addition to Konyar’s performance, the Colonels’ 4×800 girls’ relay team (Lauren Thompson, Kaitlyn Palmer, Ally Oliver, Ruby Ostrander) placed third out of 16 teams in 10:19.16. Alina Kieffer also placed 10th in the 3200 with a time of 11:42.90.
On the boys’ side, Eli Clark placed fourth out of 110 runners in the 1000 run with a personal-record time of 2:36.95. The boys’ 4×400 relay team (Connor Kenney-Fitzner, Jorel Baltimore, Clark, Ivan Andrews) placed ninth in 3:37.00.
