WINCHESTER- Kristen Hartbauer has been hired as the new swimming coach at James Wood, the high school announced Tuesday night.
Hartbauer – who has served as the Colonels’ assistant swim coach since the winter of 2008 – succeeds Mark Pennypacker who resigned at the end of last season.
Hartbauer was a member of the Saint Vincent College swim team from 2003 to 2007 and served as the team’s captain from 2006-07. She also was a National Swim Team qualifier in 2005-07.
In addition to her coaching experience at James Wood, Hartbauer has coached summer-league swimmers at the Edgeworth Club in Sewickley, Penn.
Hartbauer has been a fifth-grade teacher at Apple Pie Ridge Elementary School since 2007.
