WINCHESTER — Sydney Barr and Sarah Clark each smacked two-run home runs as part of a five-run fifth inning that saw Millbrook overtake James Wood in a 5-3 Northwestern District win Tuesday.
The Pioneers (9-11, 5-7 Northwestern) trailed 3-0 before the decisive inning, in which Megan Atlee added an RBI double.
Junior Mackenzi Steele went all seven innings, scattering four hits and striking out four for the win.
The Colonels (7-12, 6-6) got a complete-game performance from pitcher Kierstyn Peacoe, who struck out nine while allowing six hits in the loss.
