The Winchester Star
Winchester — Accurate shooting from beyond the 3-point line is important, but hitting your foul shots in the final moments of the game is even more crucial.
Millbrook High School’s boys’ basketball team proved that point Friday, hitting seven critical free throws in the final minute to overcome a torrid rain of 3-pointers by James Wood and defeat the Colonels 67-57 at Shirley Gymnasium.
After trailing by six at halftime, the Colonels unleashed a furious assault on the basket from beyond the 3-point line to narrow Millbrook’s lead to 48-44 heading into the final period.
