At least one area player is still holding out hope for a FBS scholarship. James Wood kicker Andrew Lloyd recently decided to accept an offer to walk-on at a major school, but there’s still a possibility he could be offered a scholarship by another program.
Lloyd verbally committed to walk-on to Virginia Tech, but is still being looked at for scholarship by other teams, according to James Wood coach Mike Bolin.
“It’s not a definite that he’s going to Virginia Tech,” Bolin said. “He might have the opportunity to accept an offer from other D-1 schools. Bowling Green and Louisville are still looking at him and some other Big East schools as well. But, if he does walk-on somewhere, it will be at Virginia Tech.”
