STEPHENS CITY — Both James Wood and Kettle Run were doing their respective parts to play spoilers.
East of Winchester, co-Northwestern District leader Millbrook fell behind two games to Kettle Run. In the southern part of Frederick County, James Wood had rallied back from a lopsided loss to the Warriors in Game 1 Monday night to win Game 2 to even things.
Deep into the third and fourth games, the Colonels had leads. The volleyball match was theirs to win.
