WINCHESTER — Freshmen pitchers Lauren King and Lani Spielman combined to throw a perfect game no-hitter in James Wood’s Northwestern District rout of Handley on Friday.
King struck out three through the first two innings, and Spielman fanned five over the final three innings before the game was called after five because of the 10-run rule.
Kenzie Garrett went 4 for 4 with a walk and scored five runs, and Taylor Rizzari went 3 for 3 with a double and drove in five runs for the Colonels.
Laura Gates went 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs for James Wood (15-5, 6-2 district).
The Judges (0-17, 0-8) went winless in district play.
