Eight local players made the First Team and 13 made the Second Team as part of the All-Northwestern District teams released Wednesday.
Each team featured 23 players. Liberty sophomore outfielder Morgan Waln was named the Class 4 Player of the Year. Only one person (Class 3 Fauquier’s Craig Gilmore) was named a Coach of the Year.
First Team selections are Sherando junior outfielder Madalyn Cox; James Wood sophomore pitcher Sophia Gerald, senior catcher Aliza Judd, sophomore second baseman Kati Brannon, junior shortstop Brynnen Williams, junior outfielder Kayleigh Harden and junior designated player/flex Aubrey Nail; and Millbrook junior pitcher Emma Martin.
Second Team selections are Sherando junior pitcher Lily Wray, sophomore pitcher Aubrey Weir, freshman second baseman Sophia Zimmerman, junior shortstop Makalya Williams, senior outfielder Kendra Chunta and sophomore outfielder Elleana Shutts; James Wood junior third baseman Avery Walker and sophomore DP/flex Molly Maynard; Millbrook sophomore catcher Lexi Edwards, senior shortstop Allie Simmons and senior third baseman Jazmin Orr; and Handley junior first baseman Lily Shearer and senior outfielder Haley Davis.
