WARRENTON — Ivy Rosenberry tossed a one-hitter as James Wood moved into a tie for first place in the Class 4 Northwestern District with a victory over Fauquier.
The Colonels (14-4, 9-2) will host Sherando (12-7, 9-2) today at 6 p.m. in a contest that will decide the district regular-season title. Sherando fell 9-2 to Kettle Run on Tuesday. Fauquier dropped to 9-3 in the district with the loss to the Colonels.
Rosenberry allowed just an unearned run, walked one and struck out seven.
