WINCHESTER — The James Wood boys’ and girls’ swimming teams both went 2-0 at a tri match against Strasburg and Handley at Jim Barnett Park on Tuesday.
Wood’s boys defeated Handley 62-30 and Strasburg 66-27. The girls defeated Handley 68-26 and Strasburg 55-39.
The Handley boys went 0-2, losing to Strasburg 47-42. The girls also went 0-2, falling to Strasburg 62-32.
Wood boys’ winners: Eddie Grimes (200-meter freestyle in 2:08.65; 400 freestyle in 4:32.18); Alex Hua (200 IM in 2:33.39; 100 butterfly in 1:11.52); Michael Thompson (50 freestyle in 28.46; 100 backstroke in 1:09.01); Joe Warnagiris (100 freestyle in 53.26; 100 breaststroke in 1:12.11); 200 medley relay (Warnagiris, Hua, Grimes, Zach Harrington); 200 freestyle relay (Harrington, Julian Nardelli, Warnagiris, Grimes) in 1:50.54; 400 freestyle relay (Hua, Josh Harty, Thompson, Nardelli) in 4:28.25.
Wood girls’ winners: Lauren Thompson (50 freestyle in 31.98); Ryan Oliver (100 freestyle in 1:10.65); Annie Hua (100 backstroke in 1:22.82); 400 freestyle relay (Hua, Thompson, Kallie Gyurisin, Oliver) in 4:55.54.
