WARRENTON — The James Wood boys’ basketball team didn’t make Tim Wygant wait long for a victory.
The first-year coach watched his Colonels knock down eight 3-pointers and use a decisive third quarter to pull away for a 73-58 win over Fauquier on the road Tuesday.
James Wood (1-0) got a game-high 21 points from senior Ryland Williams, who also pulled down seven rebounds, dished out five assists and tallied six steals, and senior Brant Bell chipped in with 18 points in the win.
