Wood wins Copp Duals

Winchester — If the third annual Jaye Copp Duals were designed for James Wood High School’s wrestling team to take a breath after the first half of the season and gear up for what lies ahead, then mission accomplished.

The host Colonels (22-4) coasted to five victories and captured the tournament named for the school’s longtime former coach for the second time in three years.

James Wood reeled off victories over Liberty (52-21), North Schuylkill, Pa. (54-9), Atlee (62-18), and J.R. Tucker (62-12) before nearly shutting out Mountain Ridge, Md., 63-6 in the finale.
