WINCHESTER — The Handley High School golf team led all local schools by placing eighth out of 14 teams at the 35th annual Bryan Gunter Memorial Tournament on Monday at Winchester Country Club.
Independence won with a 4-over-par, four-player score of 288, 16 strokes better than runner-up Loudoun Valley (308). The Judges shot a 335 and were followed locally by Millbrook (10th, 341), Sherando (12th, 367) and James Wood (14th, 380).
Independence’s Sam Han won the 84-golfer tournament by one stroke over teammate Evan Ronen with a 1-under 71.
